Hi all,
Just a brief update on how things are progressing in the repair of our Sewerage Treatment Plant that is currently offline due to stormwater inundation.
As sewerage entering the plant cannot be treated at the moment, we have a truck pumping out the plant 7 days a week, usually early morning. This is essential to avoid overflow and further damage.
Our wastewater maintenance contractor now has all the parts that need replacement, and works to repair plumbing and electrical terminations around the tank tops is in progress. The blowers, flowmeters etc will be mounted on a new steel table to minimise the risk in future flood events.
Concept engineering, who look after the electronic control circuitry, are putting the finishing touches on new control board equipment of which the installation will be the final stage before bringing the
plant back online.
As a conservative timeline, we expect the plant to be back to full serviceability in 2-3 weeks. Once we are back up and running, with the surrounding area around the bund sufficiently dried out, we will have some minor civil works done to ensure the outlet drain remains free of blockages, and that grass/vegetation cannot build up in the area. It will also create a buffer between plant
infrastructure and where the tractors pass when mowing the area. This will future proof the area in high rainfall events like we witnessed a few weeks ago.
Thanks and regards,
Darren
